Reservoir Exploration Technology ASA (RXT) in November 2011 entered into LOI for 4D/4C seismic data in West Africa.

Today the company confimed receiving a final contract award from Hess Equatorial Guinea, Inc. for an Ocean Bottom Cable survey on the Elon Field area of the Okume Field off the coast of Equatorial Guinea, West Africa.

The objective of the project is to replicate a 2003 streamer survey making the Ocean Bottom Cable survey a 4D monitor survey. The total survey duration is expected to be 42 days and the estimated contract value is $13 million. The project is scheduled to commence in January 2012 with planned completion in February 2012. Hess’ partners in the block are Tullow Oil and GE Petrol.

The work will be done by the vessels Ocean Pearl and Vikland and is estimated to take 45 days, depending on the final lay out of the acquisition design.
