In Europe and Asia, Hertel’s offshore teams are breaking milestones in terms of safety performance.

On 30th June, a total of 700 days without an LTI was passed.

Peter van Aken, Managing Director of Hertel’s offshore business in The Netherlands commented “700 days ago, one of our colleagues hurt his ankle, which was our last LTI. At that point, we had managed 2009 days injury free. In total, that’s one LTI in 7.5 years. This is a great achievement, that is testament to our strong focus on safety and stringent policies.”

Meanwhile in Asia, the construction of a new platform is taking place at the Sime Darby yard in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia. Hertel is responsible for this EPC contract, with construction commencing two months ago. Celebrations took place on 5th July when 1.5 million man-hours LTI free was broken. Sime Darby Engineering congratulated all employees and sub-contractors involved in the project, and an award was presented to Hertel’s Frans de Hair to mark the occasion by Mohammad Bin Shamsudin, project manager for Sime Darby. Three further Hertel employees were also given gifts to thank them for their contribution.
