InterMoor, an Acteon company, has been contracted by Shell Exploration & Production Company to replace the platform wires on the Auger TLP’s lateral mooring system in the Gulf of Mexico, announced InterMoor President Tom Fulton.
The eight platform wires that will be replaced on the Auger TLP are composed of non-jacketed spiral-strand wire. In addition to the offshore operations, InterMoor is performing the project management, engineering and fabrication of installation aids which includes a hang off porch that is to be fitted to the stern of the installation vessel to facilitate operations.
DOF Subsea will provide the Skandi Skolten, a newly-built Construction Anchor Handling Vessel (CAHV), which will be utilized for the work. The vessel will arrive in the Gulf of Mexico in March 2011, and the project will be completed in May.
