GULFPORT – Commissioners quickly approved the sale of two parcels of land in the Bayou Bernard Industrial District, most notably allowing Gulf Ship LLC to expand six acres.

It was part of three actions in a special meeting of the Harrison County Development Commission held this morning.

The shipbuilder, which is gearing up operations to build offshore support vehicles, had purchased 25.2 acres in February and leases 10.8 acres on the waterfront. It could eventually employ 800 workers.
