BOSTON High-speed ferry service between Salem and Boston officially begins this weekend.

Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey and Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll joined other state and local officials on the maiden voyage earlier today.

Healey says the new 45-minute service will give North Shore residents another way of getting to Boston, and will help tourists visit Salem’s historic destinations.
