It has been a slow Leg 8 so far. The wind might have jumped to the giddy heights of 15 knots for a brief period at the start on Friday, but since than has stayed pegged well below ten knots. The fleet are in two minds as how best to proceed. At daybreak the three Farr-designed boats, Ericsson, Pirates of the Caribbean and Brasil 1 were sailing in a tight group slightly to the south of the two ABN AMRO boats and Brunel. At the time, the wind was a reasonable eight knots from just west of north.
